About the Role
Description
Prepares building for shipping which may include shrink wrapping buildings, removing fixtures, and cleaning dust and dirt off building panels and components.
Duties include:
- Read drawings or customer specifications to determine position of unit component parts.
- Remove fixtures to help prepare building to be shipped.
- Clean dust and dirt off building panels and various components in building.
- Gather supplies and tools needed to complete jobs.
- Shrink wrap buildings to prepare for shipment.
- Complete work according to specified schedule and complete traveler documents in detail.
- Clean up work area and return tools and supplies to appropriate places each day.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Flexibility and ability to work under production pressure.
- Ability to work in cooperation with other team members.
- Experience working with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Frequent reaching and working overhead.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 10 feet, including ladders and rooftops.
- Ability to work in confined or tight spaces for extended periods of time.
