Position Overview: The Mortgage Loan Closer is responsible for coordinating and finalizing the closing of residential mortgage loans. This role ensures all documentation is accurate, compliant, and complete, and works closely with loan officers, processors, title companies/attorneys, and borrowers to facilitate a smooth closing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify all loan documents for accuracy and compliance with company, investor, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare closing packages, including final Closing Disclosure, promissory note, mortgage/deed of trust, and other required documents.
- Coordinate with title companies, attorneys, and other third parties to schedule and execute loan closings.
- Ensure all conditions of the loan approval are satisfied prior to closing.
- Communicate with borrowers regarding closing procedures, required documentation, and funding timelines.
- Input and track closed loan data in the loan origination system, ensuring accurate reporting
- Work with post-closing and funding teams to resolve any issues and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
- Maintain knowledge of current mortgage regulations, compliance standards, and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the closing process.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage closing or related mortgage operations.
- Strong knowledge of residential mortgage loan documentation and closing procedures.
- Familiarity with loan origination systems and mortgage software (experience with Encompass or similar platforms is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.

Position Type/Hours:
This is a non-exempt position working Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with overtime as necessary.
