Associate Director – Facades

As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We're looking for a dedicated Associate Director – Facades to join our Building & Real Estate division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Associate Director – Facades to join our Façade business unit. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in construction, engineering / consultancy, along with knowledge of building legislation (Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order), engineering and safety codes and design guidance, is essential to thrive in this position.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
• Be responsible for the Façade business unit: Profits & Losses, Recruitment, Strategy, Commercial
• Provide continuous high quality engineering and compliance services including external wall investigations/surveys and associated reports, production of reports and risk assessments (FRAEW, PAS9980, EWS-1, etc.), and façade design and engineering consultancy
• Identify new work opportunities with clients and other professionals, engage actively with potential clients and prepare / review fee proposal letters

To be a successful Associate Director – Facades, you should be able to demonstrate:
• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (fire, façade, structural, civil or similar field) and have achieved Chartership and full membership with a relevant professional body
• At least 8 years' experience in construction, engineering / consultancy and experience in fire safety design on Façade Systems
• Confident communicator, good customer service skills, self-motivated, able to prioritise and work on own initiative, as well as following instructions and working as part of a team
