Our Stores are one of the keys to our success.   This position is in our flagship store located at 263 East Gore Creek Drive in Vail, Colorado 81657

We are seeking an experienced retail sales associate to join our Gorsuch family of luxury retail and ski shop professionals. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in luxury gifts and home furnishings and quality to be part of our team. 

The sales supervisor is more than a job.  You will be   part of a leadership team that is instrumental in providing the best customer service to our guests, helping our guests make the best selections. 

About the Role:

The Gift and Home Furnishigs department supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a retail store within the competitive retail trade industry. This position is responsible for overseeing daily store and department activities, managing department staff performance, and delivering exceptional customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. The supervisor will implement company policies, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. By leading and motivating the department team, the supervisor drives sales targets and operational excellence. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the store’s profitability and reputation by fostering a positive shopping environment and efficient store management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with retail management software and advanced inventory control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, marketing strategies, and visual display techniques.
  • Certification in retail management or customer service excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily store operations to ensure a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Manage, train, and motivate store staff to achieve sales goals and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock audits, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards within the store.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports, staff schedules, and operational documentation to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving store performance and customer engagement.

Skills:

The Retail Store Supervisor utilizes strong leadership and organizational skills daily to manage store operations and staff effectively. Communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, resolving issues, and coordinating with team members and suppliers. Analytical skills are applied when reviewing sales data and inventory reports to make informed decisions that enhance store performance. Proficiency with POS systems and retail software supports efficient transaction processing and inventory management. Additionally, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are critical for maintaining a positive store environment and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits: 

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $28 and $32 hourly.  The rate of pay is the range we reasonably expect to pay for this position and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

5 Days a week including 2 of 3 weekend days, Fri, Sat, Sun.
Opening Day Shifts 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm
Closing Shifts 10 am to 7pm or 11am to 8pm during ski season.
Includes evenings and some holidays during ski season.
8 hours per day excluding breaks.
