Job Description
Eurofins is taking big steps in implementing best cloud and DevOps practices, accelerating the deployment of standard processes across its laboratories. A key IT Application for our Clinical Diagnostics business is the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which is in development to be deployed across our European clinical laboratories and will be hosted in AWS and On Premise.
In the role, you will be a key part of the IT Operations Team supporting the LIMS and supporting applications lifecycle, cloud migration and deployment, observability and modernisation.
As an AWS DevOps Engineer at Eurofins, you will:
- Be involved in application lifecycle management, configuration management, and build and release process management for the clinical suite of applications.
- Participate in on call rotor approx. 1 week every 4
- Become a cloud DevOps practitioner to:
- Work closely with program and application architects.
- Develop and enhance Infrastructure as Code.
- Deploy applications on Cloud infrastructure using IaC
- Aid in designing deployment plans for AWS & Hybrid Platforms
- Help bring Development and Operations teams together
- Contribute to technical activities from the DevOps backlog;
- Help team members adapt to new ways of working;
- Support the application lifecycle and operational tasks;
- Be able to support off-hours models (e.g., on-call rotation, staggered shifts, follow the sun);
- Maintain and extend both the technical documentation and DevOps guidelines;
- Act as part of the Clinical LIMS L3 Support Team;
- Provide operational support to the various Program agile teams;
- Acquire and keep expanding functional knowledge of the Eurofins IT Application landscape, starting with the Clinical LIMS and application suite
- Plan and Operate Observability platforms for the Clinical LIMS IT Application stack
Technical skills:
- Cloud infrastructure and administration: AWS
- Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS
- On-prem infrastructure and administration (including networking);
- Deploy and release tools and best practices: Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, etc.;
- Operational procedures: procurement, installation, monitoring, support, etc.;
- Scripting: PowerShell, bash, etc.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (Cloud);
- Database administration: Oracle DB, Postgres, RDS PaaS
- Configuration management (with BMC Helix/CMDB);
- Observability knowledge (Grafana)
- SD-WAN (Velocloud)
- Checkpoint and Cisco Firewall
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer Science or similar.
- AWS Certified
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an Enterprise DevOps and/or cloud migration context (AWS)
