Job Description
The Manager, Employee Relations, plays a critical role in supporting an organizational culture that promotes a fair and inclusive workplace. The Manager, Employee Relations, will thoroughly and expeditiously investigate Team Member concerns in a fair, unbiased, and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will need to have significant experience operating in a fast-paced and guest-facing environment and possess a strong investigative skill set working in Union and Non-Union organizations. Here you can:
- Be responsible for autonomously conducting in-depth interviews and investigations of highly sensitive and complex allegations, including gathering and evaluating information; preparing detailed reports, determining facts; conferring with Legal and operations leadership about issues to creatively resolve problems, and answering questions regarding processes specific to investigations and policies; assisting with the preparation of corrective action documentation.
- Develop and implement standardized processes for conducting investigations, tracking, and documenting employee relations claims and cases. Maintain detailed and accurate accounts of investigations with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents into a centralized system.
- Analyze and understand data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive issue mitigation, including training, in a high-volume, fast-paced, dynamic environment with the capacity to adapt to changing priorities.
- Partner in analysis and revision of Team Member programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment.
- Provide counseling, advice, and guidance to operations leadership and HR Business Partners in dealing with complex or sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

Qualifications
Here you'll need:
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible Human Resources generalist experience, including experience with employee relations processes/activities.
- 3+ years of experience handling complicated employee investigations and collaborating with legal counsel to document and ensure timely resolutions with investigations.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to earn trust and work successfully on a wide range of Team Member issues.
- Proven prioritization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Sensitive to deadlines and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field required.

- Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high-quality HR services in a fast-paced, high-change, matrixed environment
- Solid facilitation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrates vertical flexibility - ability to shift focus from big picture to "getting things done" as necessary
- Experience with a case database, such as Oracle, CaseIQ, or iSight
- Experience in union/represented environments or the hospitality industry is highly preferred
- Ability to develop integrated solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment
- Occasional flexibility with working weekends and holidays, if needed
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
