Since our modest beginning in 1917 to today as a 12-bed critical access hospital, FAMC continues serve as a magnet for residents of the surrounding area with many patients driving miles to receive specialty services. Physicians, mid-levels, and professional staff are on call 24-hours per day, providing ambulance service, diagnostic lab and x-ray service, emergency service, and acute care.

Faulkton Area Medical Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team. What You’ll Do:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals following established menus and therapeutic diet guidelines
- Coordinate daily food preparation and meal service
- Interact with patients to gather meal preferences and support dietary needs
- Maintain food safety standards, portion control, and proper sanitation practices
- Assist with inventory, supply management, and kitchen organization
- Support training and daily workflow of dietary staff
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food service experience preferred (not required)
- Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification within one year
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service skills with a patient, courteous approach
- Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Weekdays, weekends, and holiday rotations
- Fast-paced, hands-on role requiring standing, walking, and lifting

Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Faulkton Area Medical Center is an independent, non-profit, 12-bed Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. We are located along SD HWY 212 in Faulkton, SD serving a diverse population of 3,000 within a 60 mile radius. FAMC is one of the few independent hospitals left in the state of South Dakota. We offer a wide range of services to all ages. Our hospital is also designated by the state as a Level V trauma receiving facility.
