Parts Representative

We are looking for a dedicated, professional and friendly Technical Paint Representative to join our team at our operation based in Prestons.

McGrath Parts & Paint – part of Eagers Automotive are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Paint Representative to join our team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products, technical expertise, and top-tier customer support.

The Technical Paint Representative will serve as the primary technical resource for our customers, offering product knowledge, hands-on training, troubleshooting support, and application guidance. Experience with Axalta coatings is highly preferred, as many of our clients rely on Axalta systems for high-performance finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers in automotive, industrial, and commercial coatings environments.
• Deliver product demonstrations, application training, and best practices to panel shops
• Troubleshoot paint and application issues, recommend solutions, and ensure optimal product performance.
• Assist customers in selecting the right Axalta products for their specific needs.
• Support sales efforts by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and promoting new products.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, paint technologies, and application equipment.
• Document service visits, technical issues, and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in automotive refinishing, industrial coatings, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Axalta coatings systems strongly preferred (e.g., Cromax, Spies Hecker, Standox, Axalta Industrial).
• Strong understanding of surface prep, mixing systems, color matching, and application techniques.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a regional service schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
