About the Role

Description

Managed by Breezy Point Resort, The North Star is a vibrant, year-round sports bar and restaurant that serves as a lively social hub for both locals and guests. One of five full-service restaurants at the lakeside resort, this is a family-friendly venue renowned for its house-smoked barbecue, a custom self-serve tap wall with over 20 beverages, and entertainment including indoor golf simulators and big-screen TVs.

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily dining, bar, and outdoor operations. You will manage the front-of-house primarily and oversee back-of-house elements to deliver a high-quality dining experience, motivate a fast-paced team, and maintain production, productivity, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations and schedules, oversee dining areas, bar, and seasonal outside seating.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise FOH service  staff and schedule staff for special resort events.
  • Working Manager: This position is a customer interactive one where you will often be actively serving, bartending or expo-ing, and eligible for considerable additional compensation in tips.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets on monthly revenues, control  operational costs, optimize labor, track overhead, and suggest ways to reduce waste.
  • Guest Relations: Maximize customer satisfaction, check-in with customers, balance seating capacities, and resolve guest complaints with  professional hospitality.
  • Vendor & Inventory  Management: Regularly review product quality, research new vendors, and oversee inventory tracking and ordering  cycles.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and restaurant sanitation regulations.
  • Marketing Support: Recommend localized ways to reach a broader audience, including social media ads and seasonal discounts.
  • Reporting: This position reports to the Resort’s Food &  Beverage Manager / General Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated bar or restaurant management experience required. A candidate with 5 consecutive years in a food service or managerial role is preferred. Hospitality, resort, or golf club backgrounds are highly valued.
  • Software Tech Skills: Proficiency with restaurant management systems (e.g., Silverware POS, Toast or similar), employee scheduling software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team leadership and guest relations.
  • Happy, Fun and Friendly: This restaurant is a lively dynamic family-friendly setting that caters to crowds of golfers and hockey teams.  We want someone who loves to have fun!
  • Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays according to seasonal resort demands.
  • Background Screening: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
