We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Plumber to join our on‑site maintenance team at Silver Fern Farms Finegand, a large‑scale, beef and lamb processing site. This is an industrial trade role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining critical plumbing and drainage infrastructure that supports continuous production. Your work will help minimise downtime, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure plant reliability in a demanding processing environment.

Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities

Maintain critical infrastructure - Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on industrial plumbing, drainage, and sheet metal systems across the processing site.

Support plant operations - Assist with new installations, system upgrades, and fabrication or modification of hygiene and washdown equipment.

Uphold food safety and H&S standards - Ensure all work meets site, regulatory, and food processing compliance requirements.

Work as part of a trade team - Collaborate with maintenance trades, engineers, and production teams to support uptime and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ōu Pūkenga / About You

You’ll bring:

• A current Plumbing and Gas fitting/Drainage Registration, with 5+ years’ hands‑on trade experience, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant maintenance environment
• Proven experience maintaining plumbing and drainage systems in high‑use or process‑driven environments
• Strong fault‑finding ability and a practical, solutions‑based approach
• A strong focus on health, safety, hygiene, and compliance
• The ability to work reliably within a shift‑based, team‑oriented maintenance environment
