Job Description
What you’ll be doing
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Manager to join our organisation for a fixed term contract. In this role, you will oversee and lead a high-performing accounting team and maintain hands-on involvement in key accounting functions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with decisive leadership to optimise financial performance and ensure organisational compliance.
You'll
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across all entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of team deliverables
- Review general ledger reconciliations and analyze revenue and costing flux each month to identify discrepancies and variances
- Perform hands-on journal entry processing and take responsibility for key accounting focus areas
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and professional development
- Maintain clean, reconciled ledgers and ensure the integrity of all financial data
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control and process improvement.
- Support the integration of AI technology to improve team workflows and drive process efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- CA or CPA qualified; bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or commerce.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management roles
- Proven experience managing and supervising finance teams
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modeling
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present financial information
- Experience with Australian accounting regulations and financial reporting requirements
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency
