Position Title: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer
Location: NAWS China Lake, Ridgecrest, CA/ Point Mugu
Status: Full-time
Clearance: Secret
Salary: The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RTL Networks has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer to support NAVAIR China Lake.
Primary Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities of the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Infrastructure as Code Design & Implementation
- Build and maintain modular, reusable Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi (or similar) templates and modules.
- Implement and enforce workflows, code review processes, and CI/CD pipelines for all infrastructure changes (GitOps).
- Maintain multi-account/multi-environment (dev, test, prod) cloud setups via IaC.
- Cloud Infrastructure for Generative AI
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure to support Generative AI workloads (training, fine-tuning, inference).
- Configure GPU-enabled compute environments optimized for AI/ML workloads.
- Implement and manage networking, storage, IAM, and security policies tailored to AI data pipelines and model hosting.
- Platform & Tooling for AI/ML and AI/ML Development
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers to understand workload requirements and translate them into infrastructure designs.
- Implement automation for model deployment, scaling, blue/green or canary releases, and rollbacks.
- Integrate MLOps and AI tooling (e.g., model registries, experiment tracking, feature stores) into the infrastructure.
- Develop AI/ML Agents
- Cyber Security, Reliability & Observability
- Apply security best practices (least privilege, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management) in all infrastructure.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing for infrastructure and AI workloads using modern observability tools.
- Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for infrastructure-related issues.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 10+ years of experience.
· Minimum active Secret
· Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Analytical problem solving required.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
· Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
· Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
NOTE:
· The applicant selected for this position must have and be able to maintain an Active Security Clearance.
