In 1964, the corporate focus was shifted to employment services for people with disabilities and the name was changed to the Individual Development Center, Inc. In 1988, Work Services Corporation was formed to operate growing federal, state and private employment contracts. Today, WSC continues to provide development and employment services for people with disabilities in Texas and Oklahoma. Since 1971, over 8,000 people with disabilities have been served. Work Services Corporation is governed by a local board of directors and is affiliated with AbilityOne, Source America, and the Texas Industries for the Blind and Handicapped which serve disabled Americans. Our flagship operations include food service for Sheppard AFB and our paperclip manufacturing line. WSC was recognized as the best Air Force food service operation two of the last three years and our paperclip line has been the sole supplier of paperclips to the Federal government since 1979. About the Role

Summary/Objective 

 

The attendant II position performs janitorial services, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utilities to ensure proper operations of rest areas in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW). PT, $10hr

 

 

Essential Functions 

 

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

  1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed, maintaining a clean and safe work area. 

  1. Cleans comfort stations, emptying of trash receptacles, replenishes restroom supplies, cleans restrooms including walls, mirrors, and removing graffiti when required. Picks up loose litter on-site. 

  1. Performs maintenance of grounds that may include landscaping, cutting, trimming, edging, planting and maintaining bedding areas, watering, weeding, and removing grass clippings and tree trimmings. 

  1. Cleans and repairs tables, benches, and arbors as required, painting and cement patch as needed. 

  1. Assists public with use of facilities, giving directions as required, and answering questions as needed.    

  1. Performs weekly inventory and coordinates with the Project Manager for purchasing supplies.

Supervisory Responsibility 

 

This position acts as a lead.  

Work Environment 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and the noise level in the work environment can be loud. 

 

 

Physical Demands 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds throughout the assigned workday.  

 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

 

This position is both part-time and full-time depending upon assigned schedule. Nights and weekend work are required. 

 

 

Travel 

 

Travel is primarily local. 

 

 

Required Education and Experience 

 

  1. High school diploma or GED. 

  1. Knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment. 

 

 

Preferred Education and Experience 

 

  1. Custodial experience. 

  1. Grounds maintenance experience. 

 

 

Licenses/Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

 

  1. Drug Screen. 

  1. WSC background check. 

  1. Contractor background check.
