King's Cove Marina was started in 1966 by William H. King of Hastings, MN. With a lot of hard work, his dream of opening a full-service marina became a reality. For over 45 years, family-owned King's Cove has offered many boaters a multitude of services like dockage, boat service, boat sales, full-service gas dock, a boating store, and many other amenities. It's prime location near the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers have drawn customers in for years. Today, King's Cove is proud to celebrate 45 years in business. The upcoming 2014 boating year promises to be a year filled with fun and new memories. We are currently undergoing renovations on our office building and have plans to upgrade the marina campus and services provided. About the Role

Description

Reports to: Buildings/Grounds Supervisor

      The Building and Grounds Worker will be responsible for monitoring the overall

      condition of the Marina. He/She will have to be diverse enough to handle from the

      smallest cleaning jobs to identifying conditions that could lend to a large emergency. It

      will be his/her job to coordinate with the Buildings Supervisor to identify and facilitate

      repairs, and to keep the Marina buildings and grounds clean.

      DUTIES

      1) Responsible for the cleanliness of the entire facility.

      2) Major priority areas to be kept clean are:

          a) Restrooms, public and staff;

          b) Laundry room;

          c) Showers;

         d) Office, Ship's Store and other building areas used by public & employees;

          e) Trash receptacles are emptied before they are full;

         f) Litter pick-up from docks, water surface, parking lots, roads and other.

      3) Any other duties as assigned by the Harbormaster, for example:

         a) Haul out—wash boat bottoms and assist with shrink wrap;

          b) Launch — remove shrink wrap and put up canvas;

         c) Snow removal.

      ADDITIONAL RESPONSABILTIES

      1) Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing repairs required;

      2) Heavy lifting required;

      3) Working in high places sometimes required;

      4) Knowledge of painting preparation and painting;

      5) Ability to safely use power tools required
