Job Description
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Invoicing team in the Finance domain. You will lead a cross-functional product team of highly skilled software engineers, balancing people leadership, delivery accountability, and technical stewardship. You create an environment where teams do their best work, deliver reliably, and continuously improve, while staying aligned with business and technology goals.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and grow people: Coach, mentor, and develop engineers through regular feedback, 1:1s, and clear growth plans; hire and retain a strong, balanced team.
- Own delivery: Take accountability for the team’s commitments by setting clear goals, managing risks, and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Champion technical excellence: Guide architectural decisions, promote best practices, and ensure solutions are robust, maintainable, and fit for purpose.
- Remove obstacles: Act as a servant leader, clearing blockers and improving team effectiveness.
- Collaborate and influence: Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders, contributing to shared standards, processes, and long-term technical direction.
- Stay hands-on when needed: Step into technical discussions or delivery support to help the team succeed.
- Change & Transformation: Lead AI driven transformation initiatives
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software development, including hands-on engineering roles.
- Proven track record of leading, developing, and supporting software engineers in a people management role.
- Strong engineering and system design fundamentals, with the ability to guide architecture and technical decision-making.
- Able to work effectively with product, design, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional, distributed environment.
- Comfortable owning results, prioritising effectively, and balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
- Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin with a solid understanding of DevOps practices.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, openness to feedback, and the ability to make thoughtful, sometimes bold decisions.
- Proven ability to lead change in quickly evolving environment
- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance team productivity and development speed
