About the Role

Description

Position Purpose:

We’re hiring an Inside Sales Representative to support plumbing contractors and customers from our Meriden, CT branch. This role is ideal for someone with sales experience and a background in plumbing or the trades who enjoys helping customers find the right products, solving problems, and building strong relationships over time.

In this role, you’ll manage incoming calls, process orders, and serve as a trusted resource for plumbing products — while also identifying opportunities to recommend additional materials and solutions that help customers complete their projects efficiently.

This is a relationship-driven role focused on supporting customers and providing product guidance — not a high-pressure cold calling position. This is a full-time position based at our Meriden, CT branch located at 300 Research Parkway.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide professional, timely support to customers primarily over the phone
  • Answer incoming calls related to product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order status
  • Accurately enter and process customer orders
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and customers through consistent service and reliability
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate plumbing products and solutions
  • Identify opportunities to suggest additional or complementary products to support project success
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and leads via phone and email
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met
  • Maintain working knowledge of plumbing products and applications (HVAC knowledge is a plus)
  • Meet established performance and sales goals

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
  • Eligible to participate in the company’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.

Company Overview:

Plimpton & Hills Corporation is a leading distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, and industrial products serving contractors, businesses, and homeowners across the Northeast. With multiple branch locations and showrooms, we are committed to providing quality products, expert support, and reliable service.
