Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day Human Resources needs of all Willow ministries by delivering comprehensive HR support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role partners with ministry leadership and staff to foster a positive, compliant, and mission-aligned workplace culture. Responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits and compensation support, compliance, performance management, HR systems administration, and offboarding. The ideal candidate is organized, relational, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple HR functions while maintaining confidentiality and legal compliance.
What You'll Do:
Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, offers, and onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure effective hiring practices, communication, and legal compliance
- Oversee screening requirements such as background and reference checks
- Support onboarding initiatives
Employee & Manager Support
- Serve as a resource for HR policies, procedures, benefits, compensation, and employee questions
- Process employee updates including promotions, salary changes, and organizational changes
- Support employee relations matters and other initiatives
- Administer FMLA, workers’ compensation, and offboarding processes
Compliance, Systems & Development
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, audits, and recordkeeping requirements
- Partner with HR Director in performance management, training initiatives, and organizational HR programs
- Act as the HRIS subject matter expert
- Manage work authorization and independent contractor processes in partnership with Finance/Accounting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience with handling sensitive and highly confidential information
- Experience working within HRIS, Paylocity preferred.
- Understanding of various recruiting channels, job boards, and networking groups for recruiting purposes.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $87,000, depending on experience and education.
