Are you passionate about supporting international students to succeed in a new academic and cultural environment? Join our team as an International Student Advisor and make a real difference from pre-arrival through to students’ first weeks in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The role/Te mahi
We are seeking an experienced and proactive International Student Advisor to support international students before they arrive and as they begin their studies.
In this role, you will guide prospective students with an offer, manage pre-arrival processes and communications, and help deliver a smooth transition to life and study in New Zealand. You will also support data management and contribute to the planning and delivery of orientation, enrolment, and arrival activities.

You will be detail-oriented, organised, and highly motivated, with a strong ability to build effective working relationships. A genuine commitment to supporting international students sits at the heart of this role.
You will also bring:
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Excel)
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to exercise sound judgment in sensitive or complex situations
• Adaptability and a commitment to continuous improvement
Experience supporting international students in a tertiary environment and knowledge of eVision would be advantageous.
About our team/Mō te tīma
The International Student Support team is part of International Student Services within the External Engagement Division. The team provides dedicated support across the student journey, including enrolment, visas, insurance, pre-arrival information, wellbeing support, scholarships, and engagement activities. We are committed to delivering a positive and enriching experience for all international students.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is $69,931 to $74,609, Top of Range $80,285.
