About the Role

Description

Essential Functions

· Receive and document all incoming instruments, trays, and equipment to be cleaned, prepped, or sterilized using the pre-determined inventory check off sheets to ensure accountability of all items owned by either the Clinic or the doctor.

· Process and prepare cleaned / sterilized instruments, trays, and accessories for reissue to requesting department, as volume requires.

· Perform and record all sterilization test and activity on autoclaves, steam sterilizers, and gas units. Maintain documentation on sterilization test and quality control results for verification purposes.

· Monitor, order, and maintain sufficient chemicals and supplies for sterilization process, ensuring adequate back up stock for emergencies and seasonal demands using the E­ Requisitioning module.

· Able to perform sterilization processes in both the Central and Bella Vista areas of sterilization, have full and complete knowledge of all sterilization processes that are documented in the departmental standard operating procedures.

· Prepare and assist the departments in the setup of the new sterile containers when needed and maintain required consumable supplies for container processing.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience: One-year experience in instrument cleaning and sterilization. Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Certificate or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) Certificate
