We offer part time services for associations that would normally not be able to afford the cost and overhead of a full time Executive Director or staff. Our staff of nine offers a wide variety of skill sets, that no ONE individual would likely possess. At Mattison, we have the right people doing the right job. We bill our services hourly and typically are more cost effective than hiring an individual Executive Director.

Sous Chef - Independent Living Community


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our vibrant team at an independent living community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents by preparing nutritious, high-quality meals in a warm and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting daily menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate residents' dietary needs

- Oversee food preparation and ensure all dishes are served in a timely and professional manner

- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen

- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs

- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies

- Support special events and catering services as needed

- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure resident satisfaction


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar culinary role, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or community setting

- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation standards

- Excellent leadership and team management skills

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

- Passion for providing exceptional dining experiences and supporting resident well-being
