Job Title: Small Parts Liners

Classification: Non-Exempt 

Reports To: Small Parts Manager/Supervisor

Revision Date: July 2023


Job Description: The liner team glues pre-cut fiberglass to molds to prepare the small parts for injection. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and prepping the mold for infusion. 
  • Securing pre-cut fiberglass to ensure proper distribution and covering of mold is complete.
  • Be able to eliminate bubbles in fiberglass once it has been applied.
  • Follow the instructions of the Manager/Supervisor/lead.
  • Light sanding of parts when necessary.
  • Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards. 
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.

Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to:

  • Personal Protective Equipment- Safety Glasses’ protective apron may need a half-mask or dust/mist respirator.
  • Hand Tools- Rollers, sanders, and scissors.
  • Working  directly with fiberglass, resin, and gel coat.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience include but are not limited to:

  • Be able to use small hand tools, including scissors, razors knife etc.
  • Be able to drive a forklift.
  • Must be able to inspect and identify defects or damage to molds.
  • Follow instructions of the Supervisor/foreman/lead.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Work with a team to complete daily tasks.
  • The ability to see details at a close range.

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary
  • Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc.)
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
