Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
The Outbound Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of outbound operations within a warehouse or distribution center. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of goods to customers while maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of outbound shipping clerks, forklift operators, and other team members.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure the accurate picking, packing, and loading of outgoing shipments.
- Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet outbound order fulfillment requirements.
- Oversee the picking, packing, and staging of orders for shipment.
- Ensure accuracy in order fulfillment and adherence to customer specifications.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as inventory control and customer service, to resolve order discrepancies and ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule outbound shipments.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of outgoing shipments to comply with shipping regulations.
- Generate shipping documents and labels, and schedule pickups with carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with inventory control teams to reconcile inventory discrepancies and optimize stock availability for outbound orders.
- Conduct periodic audits of outbound inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of outgoing shipments.
- Conduct inspections of packed orders to verify accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Address any quality-related issues or concerns to maintain customer satisfaction.

Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices in warehouse operations
Job Competency / Qualifications
Education/ Training:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred
Technical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
Experience:
- Previous experience in outbound logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management required.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
