Hours: 20 hours/week
Shift: Days (5:30AM-1:00PM), including some weekends

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC
Our Dietary Cooks are a vital part of Franklin County Medical Center, ensuring that our patients, residents, employees, and visitors are fed. More specifically, the responsibilities of our Cooks include:
- Preparing and cooking large quantities of food according to menus, FCMC standards, dietary and nutritional needs, and the number of portions needed
- Directing activities of one or more workers who prepare and serve meals
- Apportioning and serving food to patients, residents, employees, and visitors
- Monitoring and recording food temperatures as well as refrigerator and freezer temperatures
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and inspecting cooking equipment, appliances, and small wares to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Following facility guidelines for holding leftovers
- Recording daily census records and food temperatures
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial or hospital food service preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Facilitation skills to support and work cooperatively with staff, patients, and others
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, in the English language
Essential Job Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Required to spend majority of each shift standing
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, and stretch
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity required
- Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight, and smell to prepare and cook food
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds when needed
- Requires constant motion around the kitchen area
- Must wear PPE as required to maintain Infection Control Standards set by the facility
