About the Role

Description

Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure is seeking friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused candidates for the position of Restaurant Host. This role is responsible for creating a positive first impression for members and guests by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring an organized and welcoming dining experience.

The Restaurant Host greets and seats guests for dining service while assisting with overall dining room flow and guest satisfaction. Qualified candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Typical shifts may include evening hours from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with daytime and weekend hours required through Labor Day.


  Essential Job Duties:


  • Warmly greets members and guests upon arrival and ensures their comfort while waiting for seating.
  • Coordinates and manages guest seating in a timely and organized manner.
  • Escorts guests to tables and provides menus and wait list information as needed.
  • Answers questions and provides recommendations regarding menus, dining options, and onsite activities.
  • Maintains balanced table rotation among servers while maximizing restaurant seating efficiency.
  • Assists in delivering exceptional guest service by communicating guest requests, concerns, or special accommodations to servers and management.
  • Responds courteously and professionally to guest inquiries regarding restaurant operations, menus, and hours of service.
  • Maintains communication with Manager regarding reservations, seating flow, and guest volume.
  • Completes assigned opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Communicates effectively and follows direction from the Food & Beverage Director, Dining Room Managers, and Supervisors.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with members, guests, and coworkers.
  • Maintains high standards of professionalism, appearance, and personal grooming.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to speak, hear, and communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 15 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work in warm and humid conditions as needed.
