About the Role


We are seeking an HME Delivery Techinician to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The HME Delivery Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that members receive their home medical equipment promptly, safely, and in proper working condition. This position involves the delivery, setup, and demonstration of medical devices and equipment to patients in their homes, ensuring they understand how to use them effectively. The technician acts as a vital link between the healthcare provider and the patient, providing exceptional customer service and technical support. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate delivery records and coordinating with healthcare professionals to address any equipment issues or patient concerns. Ultimately, the HME Delivery Technician contributes to improving member outcomes by facilitating access to essential medical equipment in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate delivery vehicles safely.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to handle and operate medical equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with delivery and setup.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year for year basis. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in home medical equipment delivery or healthcare-related field.
  • Certification in CPR or basic first aid.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems and mobile delivery technology.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medical equipment.
  • Customer service training or experience in a patient-facing role.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver home medical equipment and supplies to patients' residences across assigned territories in a timely and safe manner.
  • Set up, inspect, and demonstrate the proper use of medical equipment to patients and caregivers, ensuring comprehension and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure functionality before and after delivery.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, patient signatures, and documentation in compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams to resolve equipment issues and coordinate follow-up services.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and infection control procedures during deliveries and patient interactions.
  • Manage inventory and report any equipment shortages or damages to the appropriate department promptly.
