The Pipeline Integrity Field Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of the company’s pipeline systems through the development and management of integrity management programs. This role leads technical teams, oversees integrity survey assessments and risk evaluations, and drives mitigation to support regulatory and compliance requirements.
What you will do:
- Lead, implement, and continuously improve pipeline Integrity Management Programs (IMPs) in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations (e.g., 49 CFR 192/195) and industry standards.
- Support pipeline as-built surveys, traceable, verifiable and complete (TVC) records regulatory compliance.
- Set above ground monumentation (AGM’s) for pig tracking and pig runs.
- Oversee pig tracking procedures for Inline Inspection (ILI) operator runs.
- Support and work with inspection crews on Cathodic Protection (CP) surveys.
- Support and drive Close Interval Surveys (CIS) services.
- Support leak detection inspections and surveys.
- Manage assessment and inspection programs including in-line inspections, hydrostatic tests, direct assessments, and other integrity assessment methods, ensuring timely execution and follow-up on findings.
- Oversee risk assessment processes, including data collection, risk modeling, threat identification, and prioritization of mitigation activities.
- Work with Pipeline Engineer to evaluate integrity assessment results, determine fitness-for-service, remaining life, and required remediation, and approve repair plan.
- Develop and manage budgets for integrity assessments, repairs, and related projects; track performance against cost and schedule.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to engineers, specialists, and field personnel involved in integrity, corrosion, inspection, and repair activities.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Corrosion, GIS, and other groups to plan inspections, schedule outages, and execute remediation work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable pipeline safety regulations, codes, and company standards; maintain and update integrity management plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Represent the company during regulatory audits, inspections, and incident investigations, providing documentation and technical explanations as needed.
- Support due diligence for new construction, acquisitions, and divestitures by evaluating pipeline condition, integrity risks, and compliance status.
- Promote a strong safety culture and risk-awareness mindset across the organization, communicating field integrity program goals, performance, and expectations.
- Stay current with emerging integrity technologies, regulations, and best practices, and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and standards.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant technical experience may be considered.
- Typically, 5–8+ years of experience in pipeline field services, surveying, integrity management, or related oil and gas pipeline disciplines, including inspection, corrosion control, and regulatory compliance.
- Land surveying experience, pig tracking and monumentation experience.
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards such as 49 CFR 192/195, ASME B31.4/B31.8, and relevant ASME/NACE guidance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams, projects, or programs in a pipeline or midstream environment.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret inspection data, TVC documentation, and engineering reports to make sound, defensible decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and with regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., GIS, Trimble, integrity/risk management systems, data analysis tools, and standard office applications).
- Willingness to travel to field locations, inspection sites, and regulatory meetings as required (often 35% - 50% travel).
