About the Role

Description

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Human Resources Assistant provides high-quality administrative and operational support across core human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee records, and reporting. This role helps ensure an efficient, compliant, and positive employee experience by maintaining accurate information, coordinating key HR processes, and serving as a responsive resource to staff. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the recruitment process by posting open positions, tracking candidates, conducting phone screens, and scheduling interviews. 
  • Prepare offer letters and coordinate reference checks and background screenings. 
  • Enter new hires into the HRIS and support onboarding setup and documentation. 
  • Partner with the Office Manager to coordinate workspace, equipment, computer and phone setup for new employees. 
  • Conduct first-day orientation and complete onboarding documentation. 
  • Coordinate the agency’s quarterly new hire orientation. 
  • Create and maintain employee files, convert paper documents to electronic records, and support annual file audits. 
  • Respond to employee questions and provide support on routine human resources matters. 
  • Maintain the HR SharePoint folder and related records. 
  • Support annual open enrollment and other benefits-related administrative processes. 
  • Coordinate performance evaluation processes and related tracking. 
  • Perform payroll maintenance for employee changes and support Finance with payroll processing. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


 


 



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered. 
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, applicants, and partners at all levels. 
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint; experience with HRIS platforms such as Paylocity is a plus. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk up and down stairs.? 
  • The employee is required to have?close?visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.? 
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.?
