Prep Cook

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. This role ensures all food preparation is completed efficiently, safely, and according to established recipes and standards.
Requested Tasks:
- Prepare ingredients including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, preparing sauces, and assembling basic recipes
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked prep stations
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications established by the culinary team
- Label, date, and properly store food items in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist line cooks and chefs during service as needed
- Receive and organize deliveries while rotating inventory using FIFO methods
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain sanitation standards and comply with all health department regulations
- Assist with cleaning duties including kitchen equipment, floors, storage areas, and workstations
- Support banquet, restaurant, and catering preparation needs when required
Requested Capabilities:
- Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team
- Food Handler Certification preferred or required per local regulations
- Experience in hotel, fine dining, or upscale casual restaurant environments
- Understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures
- Team collaboration and strong communication skills
- Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, slicers, fryers, and knives
