Kick start your career in private business with this opportunity to join PwC for an immediate start in our Kirikiriroa / Hamilton office. 

 

We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career; you may be a graduate or have up to 1 year of experience.   

 

Our Private Business team are consultants dedicated to supporting a wide range of clients, from small family-owned firms to larger household names. We play a vital role in helping these businesses succeed and expand, both locally and globally by providing a broad and comprehensive range of financial advisory services. This may include addressing various aspects of business operations, including financial analysis and reporting, growth strategies including strategic planning and advice, performance improvement, wealth protection and financial management, as well as risk management and assistance with business transactions. 

Your day-to-day could include: 

  • Immersing yourself in a diverse and dynamic environment, working with fascinating companies that offer innovative products and services.  

  • work closely with business owners, helping them navigate financial challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their strategic goals. 

  • Providing technical advice on accounting and tax matters to a diverse client base. 

  • Assisting organisations to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities across the tax life cycle. 

  • Supporting a team to deliver technical accounting and tax compliance work, including tax returns and statutory financial statements. 

  • Assisting clients' finance functions with tasks such as month-end reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial modelling, board reporting, and process improvements. 

  • Engaging in planning and execution of multiple projects with precision and efficiency.

  • Ambitious and tech-savvy with a passion for advisory and sharing the same aspirations as the business owners we support. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. 
  • Experience or an interest in a CA environment or a Business Advisory role, keenness to develop a solid foundation in accounting and finance. 
  • Familiarity with what is required to prepare tax and accounting compliance documents, including tax returns and financial statements is beneficial. 
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Xero and Excel, utilising technology to deliver efficient solutions. 
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and acute attention to detail. 
  • A degree in a relevant field (this may be Bachelor of Commerce or Business, majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation, Information Systems or Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics or Bachelor of Engineering)
