About the Role

Description

Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Inventory & Acquisitions to lead inventory operations and consignment strategy across all dealership locations.


As the business continues to scale, this role will establish centralized ownership of inventory flow, acquisition strategy, and consignment performance. The Director will drive visibility, accountability, and consistency across locations while directly influencing inventory mix, turn rates, and overall profitability.


This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for both strategy and execution across a multi-location dealership network.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Strategy & Ownership

  • Own and oversee inventory performance across all dealership locations 
  • Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned with sales demand and market trends 
  • Monitor and manage inventory mix, aging, turn rates, and overall health 
  • Establish standards for inventory control, tracking, and reporting 

Acquisition & Consignment Strategy

  • Lead the strategy for both consignment and direct inventory acquisition 
  • Establish clear guidelines for sourcing, pricing, and intake of units 
  • Drive consistency and performance across consignment teams 
  • Identify opportunities to increase inventory flow and improve acquisition quality 

Process Standardization & Systems

  • Implement standardized processes for inventory intake, documentation, and tracking 
  • Ensure accurate and consistent use of Lightspeed across all locations 
  • Improve visibility into inventory data and reporting across the organization 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency 

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish and track KPIs related to inventory performance and acquisition 
  • Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to executive leadership 
  • Drive accountability across locations for inventory metrics and outcomes 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Sales, Service, and Operations leadership to ensure inventory readiness 
  • Support sales teams with the right inventory mix to drive revenue 
  • Collaborate with leadership on growth strategy and expansion planning 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, acquisitions, or dealership operations 
  • Experience in marine, automotive, RV, or powersports industry strongly preferred 
  • Proven ability to manage multi-location operations or large-scale inventory 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills 
  • Experience working with dealership systems (Lightspeed or similar) 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making ability 
  • Ability to drive process improvement and organizational change
