About the Role

Description

Position starts at $19.35 with annual merit increases and production bonuses. All team members are eligible for a variety of career development and skill training classes at no cost and can enjoy a generous team member discount. Full time team members are also eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance along with paid time off.


SUMMARY 

Drives truck with capacity of less than thirteen tons to transport donated materials to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least important.

 

Drives truck to destinations and collection sites and drops off and/or picks up materials. 

 

Loads bins and gaylords and other items into trucks, distributing weight evenly, forming a compact load and securing materials during transit.

 

Maintains a truck log indicating arrival and departure times.

 

Removes donated items and trash from stores collection sites to maintain the site in a clean and orderly condition.

 

Unloads merchandise from trucks and donation centers and moves to designated area.

 

Inspects truck equipment and supplies in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) pre trip requirements.

 

Reports truck malfunctions or problems to the Director, Transportation & Logistics.

 

Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Director, Transportation & Logistics or other member of management.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Empties trash bins and transports to disposal area.

 

Works cooperatively with the rehabilitation staff to provide guidance to persons served assigned to the work area.

 

Performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the Transportation & Logistics Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No formal education required. Successful completion of truck driver school preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License (Class C) and a safe driving record (as determined by the Agency's insurance carrier).
