Benefits Associate (LHMSH)

Description
The Benefits Associate is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the health and wellness programs offered by the Company. Assisting employees with their benefit questions and ensuring enrollments are completed before the enrollment deadline, as well as completing any life event enrollments outside of annual enrollment during the plan year.
This is a great opportunity to kick off your career within the People and Culture department! Attention to detail, proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, and the ability to handle sensitive information are the qualifications of this role.
This is an in-office position.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist, lift, and move about.
- Required vision includes close, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to carefully consider all information and make impactful decisions on a regular basis.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
- The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage day-to-day enrollments, terminations, and life status changes for health and benefit enrollments.
- Respond timely to employee questions regarding benefits, coverage, and enrollment opportunities.
- Stay up to date on company benefit packages and ensure clear communication on benefit plan coverages, options, deductibles, employer contributions, etc.
- Assist in the creation of resources, training materials, and informational pieces on benefit packages for employees.
- Communicates with facility administrators as deadlines for staff enrollment approach.
- Ensure employee benefits records with the company’s HRIS stay up to date with regular and timely maintenance and audits.
- Maintain accurate employee benefit records, enrollment data, and relevant documentation such as dependent eligibility (legal dependent under plan guidelines).
- Provide digital medical and dental cards as requested.
- Manage the benefits ticketing system, assigning incoming tasks to Benefits team members.
- Track transfers to ensure benefits transfer to the new location correctly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant benefit laws such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, and other regulatory requirements
- Assist with all aspects of annual open enrollment.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality for employees’ benefits.
- Support LHMSH culture by promoting “Friendly, Positive, and Focused on Excellence”.
- Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of Larry H. Miller Senior Health.
