Housing Matters partners with individuals and families to create pathways out of their homelessness into permanent housing. Working under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Technician (part-time) is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position will operate between Housing Matters' multiple buildings and grounds located at the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) site and the Live Oak Landing (the “Landing) site. Additionally, this position will require the staff member to maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate an organization-owned vehicle between the two Housing Matters sites.
Hours and Benefits:
The Maintenance Technician is a part-time (32 hours), hourly, non-exempt position, eligible for medical, dental, vision, 403b, and our generous PTO plan.

Starting Wages (Dependent on Experience):
$26.50 $27.30 $28.12 $28.96 $29.83 $30.72
Preferred Experience/ Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to speak English fluently required.
- 2-3 Years of maintenance technician or similar experience
- 2-3 years of experience in plumbing and carpentry; simple electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Requires Regular standing, walking, sitting, crouching, stooping, and communication.
- Requires frequent lifting, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting objects and operating equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

- Valid California state driver's license and a clean driving record
- Blood Borne Pathogen certification a plus (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
- Basic computer skills, including ability to answer emails and utilize basic google suite and Microsoft office platforms.
Thorough knowledge of:
- Standard safety procedures
- Methods, materials, tools, and techniques used for maintenance work
- Operating and caring for maintenance supplies and equipment
- Safety and PPE standards
Typical Job Duties:
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of facilities equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
- Perform simple repair duties/preventative maintenance responsibilities including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and painting of facilities and Housing Matters property.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations or defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
