Job Description
We are seeking applications from experienced health practitioners for the role of Lecturer in Paramedicine. This role contributes to the teaching activities of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, while maintaining engagement in scholarly, research, and/or professional practice relevant to the discipline. You will join a small and collaborative team of academic paramedics contributing to the development and delivery of the Bachelor of Paramedicine program, with a focus on prehospital care and paramedic education.
The successful candidate will support the School’s educational mission by delivering high-quality learning, teaching, and assessment activities within the program. You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners to secure appropriate placement opportunities and support successful student progression.
You will contribute to the broader academic mission of the School through scholarly and service activities as negotiated with your Academic Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging teaching and learning activities, including lectures and practical workshops
- Contributing to course delivery and academic responsibilities within the program
- Supporting a student-centred learning environment that fosters respectful and positive engagement
- Collaborating with paramedicine practitioners and prehospital care organisations to support high-quality placement experiences and industry-aligned outcomes
- Building and maintaining meaningful partnerships with external stakeholders and the broader community
- Contributing to the profile and reputation of the School through engagement with education and research activities
This is a continuing, part-time (50%) position based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
Qualifications
We are seeking applications from candidates who:
- Possess a Bachelors or Honours degree in Paramedicine, or other relevant qualification (e.g., Diploma Health (Paramedic).
- Have relevant professional and practical experience.
- Are registered or eligibility to register, with the Paramedicine Board of Australia, under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
A postgraduate qualification relevant to tertiary education, paramedicine, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.
