Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines and platforms that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role focuses on implementing robust data solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, while ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.

The position involves hands-on development of ETL processes, data models, and pipelines, working closely with platform, analytics, and business teams to deliver clean, structured, and timely data.

Specific Job Responsibility

  • Design, build, and maintain end to end data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines (batch and real-time)
  • Ensure seamless integration across IT, OT, and analytics platforms
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned to business needs
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions for business improvement.

Job Specific Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets and assist drive data-influenced decisions.
  • High level proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with cloud-native services and platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse,  BigQuery)
  • Report writing

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience in data engineering, distributed systems, or data platform operations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain data pipelines in production environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
