We’re looking for experienced Mechanical Supervisors to join our team in McArthur River Mine to provide leadership and management support to the Mechanical Workshop team, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance outcomes. This is a permanent role on a 2 on / 2 off rotating day and night roster.

What you’ll be doing
As a Mechanical Supervisor at Hastings Deering, you will:
- Lead and develop your team – provide active management, leadership, coaching, and guidance to workshop employees and contractors while ensuring company policies and procedures are upheld.
- Drive safety and compliance – maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring governance and compliance across all mechanical activities and installations.
- Deliver operational excellence – ensure KPIs, targets, timeframes, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Manage major projects – maintain single point accountability for all major mechanical works, ensuring continuity, progress, and clear communication.
- Improve performance and quality – work closely with the team to enhance efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement outcomes.
- Develop workforce capability – create and manage a Mechanical Skills Training Matrix to build team capability and performance.

What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Trade qualifications that matter – relevant Mechanical trade qualification.
- Leadership experience – 3–5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role within mining or heavy earthmoving industries.
- Technical expertise – strong knowledge of Caterpillar systems, parts, and service processes.
- Safety-first mindset – demonstrated commitment to maintaining high workplace health and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills – ability to effectively communicate, document, and manage time across multiple priorities.
- Continuous improvement focus – initiative-driven with a commitment to quality, reliability, and building strong customer relationships.
