About the Role

As a Vehicle Operations Specialist (VOS) for on-road testing, you are the link between cutting-edge AI and the unpredictability of the open road.

This isn't simply a "driving job"—it's a technical role that requires the focus of a pilot and the analytical mind of a tester. You will operate vehicles with proprietary technology, providing real-time feedback to engineering teams to ensure the fleet is safe, efficient, and smarter every day.

Core Responsibilities

Your day-to-day involves more than just sitting behind the wheel. You are an agile sensor tester and a safety expert.

●  Systems Supervision: Monitor vehicle software systems while upholding safe operational protocols and full legal compliance.

●  Structured Testing: Execute specific test cases (e.g. navigating construction zones, roundabouts, heavy pedestrian traffic, etc.) and document system performance accordingly.

●  Data Logging & Reporting: Provide concise, high-quality verbal and written feedback on non-ideal vehicle behaviors and edge-case scenarios.

●  Fleet Health: Perform pre-and-post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring sensors (LiDAR, Cameras, Radar) are clean and report major, operational concerns accordingly.

●  Collaboration: Work directly with Software and Hardware Engineers to troubleshoot issues identified during your shift(s).

Shifts:

Candidates will start on a 9am-5pm shift, but will later move to one of the following once the team is more established.

AM: 6:00am – 2:00pm

PM: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

What You Bring to the Table Requirement

Driving Record:

A pristine driving history (no major infractions in the last 5+ years).

Cannot have more than 1 violation point count.

Tech Literacy:

Ability to navigate complex software interfaces and troubleshoot basic hardware/connectivity issues.

Focus:

High "situational awareness"—the ability to remain hyper-focused for long durations in a repetitive environment.

Communication:

Strong written English skills for technical reporting and clear verbal skills for real-time communications.

Adaptability:

Comfort with a rapidly changing environment; you might be testing a new software build every single day.

Minimum Qualifications:

●  High School Diploma or GED.

●  Valid U.S. Driver’s License for at least 5 years.

●  Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).

●  Must pass a rigorous background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

●  Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in fleet operations and/or precision driving.

●  Experience in the AV industry or testing complex hardware/software systems.

●  Knowledge of vehicle dynamics or basic automotive mechanics.

Physical Requirements

● Ability to sit in a vehicle for up to 6-8 hours per day.

●  Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (e.g., moving sensor calibration equipment).

●  Clear vision and hearing (with or without corrective wear/aids) to monitor environmentalcues.

Why Join Our Client? You’ll play a key role in advancing AI-centric autonomous technology and revolutionizing the future. We offer competitive pay, health/dental/vision benefits, and the chance to say, "I helped teach that vehicle how to drive itself." Our client is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
