Job Summary
The Portfolio Banker partners with Relationship Managers and the Regional Relationship Manager to evaluate the financial condition and credit needs of prospective and existing Commercial Real Estate (CRE) borrowers. This role is responsible for analyzing CRE financial statements, credit information, and supporting due diligence to assess the risk and return of financing opportunities.
The position requires experience in investor real estate underwriting and asset management, including preparation of credit memoranda and annual loan reviews. The Portfolio Banker supports the underwriting and structuring of complex loan products—such as bridge and construction loans—through analysis of rent rolls, borrower and property financials, cash flows, and valuations.
This role collaborates closely with clients, Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, and senior leadership to support credit approval and risk decisions. Post-closing responsibilities include monitoring financial reporting, covenant compliance, loan performance, and relevant market and property trends.
The Portfolio Banker typically serves as a secondary point of contact for assigned relationships and is expected to deliver a high level of service to support strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze property financial statements and rent rolls, borrower and guarantor personal and business financial statements, and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness and risk.
• Spread financial statements and federal income tax returns for properties, businesses, borrowers, and guarantors using CASH Insight (or comparable systems).
• Monitor performance of the CRE loan portfolio by evaluating property cash flow, covenant compliance, and the financial condition of borrowers and guarantors.
• Analyze borrower and guarantor liquidity, profitability, and credit history, benchmark business performance against comparable industries and geographic markets.
• Prepare and present credit memoranda to senior management or credit committees in support of new, renewal, and extension loan decisions.
• Monitor credit risk through periodic review of financial trends, credit bureau reports, payment history, and other relevant risk indicators.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policy, regulatory requirements, and loan agreement terms by maintaining complete and current credit files and tracking required financial reporting and covenant compliance.
• Collaborate directly with clients to support relationship retention, new business opportunities, and the Bank’s reputation as a trusted CRE partner.

Complies with all applicable state and federal banking laws, regulations, and internal policies related but not limited to lending, operations, and deposit requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements, Financial Elder Abuse reporting laws, Sexual Harassment prevention policies, information security and privacy requirements.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a related field, with a strong emphasis on Commercial Real Estate underwriting and asset management, customer service, and credit portfolio management.
Minimum Absence Requirement
Some positions within the Bank have been designated as sensitive positions due to access to critical systems, records, or processes. In accordance with Bank policy and sound internal-control practices, employees in sensitive positions are required to complete a mandatory consecutive absence from essential duties each calendar year to support segregation of duties and independent review.
The required absence will be scheduled in coordination with management to ensure continuity of operations. Administration of absence, including paid or unpaid status, will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour and leave laws, including California requirements.
Required Minimum Absence for This Position: Two (2) Consecutive Weeks
Officer Title Eligibility
For qualified positions, the Bank may designate an Officer Title based on the role’s job level, scope of responsibility, and alignment with established competency frameworks. Eligibility for an Officer Title designation is contingent upon the employee meeting defined competency, performance, and experience requirements and is governed by applicable Bank policies, governance standards, and required approval processes.

Compensation
The listed range represents the full compensation range for this position. Placement within the range will be determined based on factors including skills, relevant experience, job-related qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, in accordance with Bank compensation policies.
Exempt Salary Range: $102,440 – $174,200 per year
