About the Role

Description

U.S. Citizenship is Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required.

Toyon is seeking a highly motivated Aerospace Engineer with a strong background in systems analysis and aerospace engineering concepts. The candidate will contribute to the planning and modeling of advanced aerospace systems, with an emphasis on performance analysis, aerodynamic modeling, and system effectiveness studies. Individuals will develop and make use of existing analytical tools to support analyses for a wide customer base. Typical projects require formulation of the analysis problem, model development, analysis execution, and presentation of the results to the customer.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or math
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Python programming languages
  • Understanding of applied probability and statistics
  • Deep understanding of flight dynamics
  • Deep understanding of aerodynamics
  • Ability to plan and manage resources to accomplish technical tasks

Preferred

  • Knowledge of detection, tracking, and discrimination algorithms
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Exposure to aerospace vehicle dynamics, flight mechanics, or GNC systems
  • Contributions (publications, reports, or patents) in flight dynamics, aerodynamics, or controls
  • Experience in technical project management of a cross-discipline team

The annual pay range for the Aerospace Systems Analyst position is $115,000 to $200,000.


The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
