About the Role

Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Construction Specialist will utilize solid construction and safety experience provide on-site observation of construction activities, ensuring health and safety compliance while serving as a role model for safety in a fast-paced environment.


The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates a deep, personal commitment to safety, preservation of the environment, and the health of our employees, guests and neighbors at all times.
  • Serve as the construction site subject matter expert for confined space, electrical safety, fall protection and 
  • Be present for and observe a multitude of construction activities, ensuring safe and compliant work practices at the SHINE construction site.
  • Identify/assess and address potential workplace safety issues.
  • Provide on-the-spot corrections and mentoring.
  • Prepare and conduct employee trainings including but not limited to confined space, lock-and-tag, fall protection, arc flash, general employee safety training.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a construction environment
  • Experience delivering EHS training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA general industry and construction standards
  • OSHA certification
  • Acute attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Strong leadership 
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety related discipline preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: 

  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. 
  • This position requires the physical ability to safely perform essential construction functions, such as, but not limited to, working in confined spaces, working at elevated heights, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting and handling tools, parts, and equipment, for extended periods.
  • Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. 
  • Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
