Position Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the GM and staff to meet the profit plan for their store while accomplishing our company mission. Assistant Managers also collect physical inventory data, execute directives from department heads at HQ, and work with the General Manager to provide their store sales, tech, operational, and merchandising support to ensure a successful retail environment. You will become familiar with and be a champion of Mike's Bikes' company culture (values) and safety program.
Essential Job Functions
Leadership:
- Be an example of how a Mike’s Bikes sales advisor should behave by providing the best customer experience possible.
- Play a supporting role to the sales staff with difficult situations or on an “as needed/requested” basis.
- Use your customer service knowledge to help develop the sales staff’s skills.
- Be a resource for assisting other sales advisors in resolving customer and employee conflicts.
Management:
- Assist the GM in quarterbacking the sales floor to ensure all customers are served exceedingly well.
- Contribute to morning huddles when applicable.
- Embody our standard of hospitality and step in to resolve all customer conflicts or complaints.
- Complete any tasks given by your store management.
- Maintain store cleanliness standards.
Inventory:
- Maintain an accurate inventory database and link the store to the company’s product supply chain by processing and verifying all incoming and outgoing parts, accessories, and bicycles
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to change direction at a moment’s notice and adapt to a frequently changing work environment
- Must be able to quickly assess a situation and adapt your presentation style to best address the customer’s needs
- Must be successful working in a competitive environment where comparing your results with your peers’ results would be motivational
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills
Physical Job Requirements:
- Position requires standing or sitting in a visible and accessible spot in the store to engage customers when they enter the store
- Must be able to move around the store and talk to customers
- Must be able to lift 15-35 lb bikes while standing on a ladder and descend the ladder with a bike in hand
- Must be able to type at a computer for brief periods and read the information on the monitor
- Must be able to communicate with customers, both in person and over the telephone
HOURLY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience and the interview with a potential range between $27-$30/hr.
