About the Role
Description
The Senior Behavior Analyst (SBA) provides and oversees the provision of applied behavior analysis services within Faison’s Early Education Center (EEC). The SBA is responsible for managing a team of behavior analysts, program managers, completing behavioral assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and documenting all services as per Faison guidelines. In addition, the SBA completes several other related administrative tasks as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments and ongoing evaluations (minimum twice annually for long-term clients).
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans (typically every 6 months).
- Ensure compliance with documentation and insurance (Medicaid/commercial) requirements.
- Establish and monitor data collection systems to track client progress.
- Provide direct client services as needed and oversee overall service delivery and authorizations.
Case Management
- Maintain complete and compliant client records, including intake, treatment, and progress documentation.
- Serve as primary liaison for clients, families, and care teams; facilitate meetings and communication.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports.
- Ensure adherence to Virginia human rights regulations for all clients.
Supervision & Staff Development
- Supervise and train staff delivering behavioral and educational services.
- Support staff development, certification, and performance management.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Conduct evaluations, provide coaching, and address performance concerns.
Program Operations
- Oversee intake, referrals, and new client enrollment processes.
- Ensure proper funding verification, documentation, and staffing setup.
Administrative & Additional Duties
- Support safety, compliance, and emergency response.
- Maintain client safety standards (cleanliness, materials, etc.).
- Complete required trainings (CPR, medication administration).
- Provide leadership coverage as needed and support special projects.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in behavior analysis, education, psychology, or a related field, required.
- Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA®) required.
- Hold licensure in Behavior Analysis, preferred (must obtain license within 90 days of hire).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with toddlers, children, and young adults with developmental disabilities, behavior problems, communication, and social dysfunction, as well as with their families and other caregivers.
- Supervisory/managerial experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in the development and oversight of specialized curriculum and staff training.
- Knowledge, experience, and formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; maintain balance during stepping, shifting, and sliding movements.
- Ability to maintain balance while lowering to a half squat position, to move hips in a quick and smooth motion, and to repetitively bend and flex knees, wrists, and elbows.
- Remain alert and attentive; knowledge of and ability to perform CDeT system techniques (which) include lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, blocking, grabbing).
- Ability to use safety equipment for extended periods of time (up to an hour), including denim jackets, face guards, blocking pads, and arm and leg guards.
