Education Coordinator

Description
The Education Coordinator assists the Senior Director of Education and Clinical Services (SDECS) in developing, implementing, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness of internal and external education programs. This position is also responsible for coordinating all outreach education and human patient simulation training.
Primary Duties
1. Assists in interviews and evaluations of new hires and internal transfers.
2. Develops and implements orientation programs and competency-based curricula for new team members.
3. Collaborates with Clinical Instructors, Field Training Officers and Preceptors to facilitate successful onboarding.
4. Monitors clinical education trends and makes recommendations to the SDECS.
5. Develops and coordinates competency-based education plans for ongoing skill validation.
6. Implements technology-based training and provides national certification courses.
7. Schedules, announces, and tracks attendance for human patient simulation training.
8. Develops patient-based case scenarios and ensures proper maintenance of simulators.
9. Enhances LMS utilization and efficiency (e.g., Ninth Brain System).
10. Maintains and develops online learning programs and records certifications and rotations.
11. Collaborates with regional directors and base leads to coordinate outreach activities.
12. Oversees the continuing education (CE) program and maintains instructor certifications.
13. Participates in planning MedFlight/MedCare-sponsored conferences.
14. Maintains training facilities, equipment, simulators, manikins, and materials.
15. Serves as a clinical resource for crew members.
16. Meets all requirements outlined in the RN or Paramedic position description.
17. Assists with annual medical protocol reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Must possess current State of Ohio RN licensure, Valid Ohio Paramedic or EMT certification.
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3. Must possess current certifications in ACLS, BLS.
4. Must complete ITLS and PALS within six months of hire.
5. Must complete NRP& ASLS within one year of hire.
6. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of emergency transportation procedures and a thorough understanding of their application in the medical transportation environment.
7. Prior experience in EMS related training preferred
8. Prior experience in critical care transport preferred.
9. Prior experience in the operation of a human patient simulator, experienced in computer programming and other technical elements of maintaining the human patient simulator preferred. Work requires the skills necessary to quickly and safely transport patient using available resources, prioritize requests, and assists with patient care as directed.
10. Work requires interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with internal and external personnel in stressful situations and to act as a representative of MedFlight/MedCare to the public.
11. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by our insurance carrier.
12. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
