Join our dedicated team as a Housing Specialist I and play a vital role in supporting the effective administration of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. In This Role, You Will:

  • Manage participant caseloads, ensuring timely and accurate processing of applications and recertifications
  • Assist with lease-up procedures, including coordinating between participants, landlords, and program staff
  • Conduct eligibility determinations and rent calculations in compliance with HUD regulations and association policies
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of participant files, transactions, and program documentation
  • Ensure all program activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational procedures
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in housing assistance programs or social services is a plus
