About the Role

Description

  Cristek Interconnects, LLC, is headquartered in Anaheim, CA, with additional locations in North Billerica, MA and Minden, NV. The North Billerica, MA facility manufacturers build-to-print electrical cable and harness assemblies. Cristek is a preferred supplier to several major Aerospace, Defense, and Space prime contractors. 

Requirements

  Working as part of the Quality Assurance team, the Quality Administrator will play a key role to ensure that cable and harness assemblies meet AS9100 standards, industry regulations, customer specifications, IPC-620, J-STD and Cristek Best Practices. This role will report to the Quality Assurance Specialist and provide assistance with quality control documentation, compliance records, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment while meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements is critical to this position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Read and  comprehend, in English, the customer Drawings, Parts List, Wire List, Processes, Specifications, and assembly Routers for step-by-step instructions on how the cable assembly was built, in order to prepare for FAIRs.

First Article Inspection Report (FAIR):

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Specialist and other FAI team members with the FAI dashboard in SAP for the Billerica site – reviewing daily to plan upcoming orders requiring FAI (internal or external).
  • Each assembly shall have a separate FAI # in Net-Inspect and reference the Cristek FAI #.
  • Ensure there isn’t an existing FAI on file before beginning a new one.
  • “Prep” all required FAIs using Discus software to “balloon” the customer drawing.
  • Fill in Forms 1, 2, and 3 of AS9102C utilizing Net-Inspect (or Excel if needed) based on the customer drawing and parts list.
  • Once the cable and harness assembly has gone through Quality for Final Inspection, collect all required documentation to begin completing the “compliance” portion of the FAI.
  • Enter all referenced items (Lot #s, Router Op #s, Specifications, and Process)  into Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • If in  Excel, print all Supplier C of Cs and number each page to correspond with the FN on the customer’s Parts List. If in Net-Inspect, attach electronic copy of Supplier CofC to the Document tab.
  • Attach customer drawing, parts list, purchase order and supporting specifications and documents into the document tab in Net-Inspect. If using Excel, print all associated documents listed above.
  • Sign FAI and submit to Quality Assurance Specialist for review and submission to customer.
  • Once FAI has been approved by customer, save FAI in Net-Inspect to a PDF file and save to S: drive/Teams.
  • Write Net-Inspect # (or Excel #) on Work Order package and once approved, bring kit to Shipping.
  •  Copying, filing, scanning and document storage of all FAIs must be up-to-date at all times.
  • Collaborate with Receiving, Inspection, and Stockroom personnel with regard to lot traceability issues.
  • Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Engineering on customer documentation issues.
  • General Administration:
  • Scanning/Copying/Filing/Shredding of all Quality documents (FAIs, MRB Records, NCMRs, RMAs, CARs,etc.)
  • Assist with scanning and filing of completed Work Order packages daily.
  • Assist General Manager with all E3 administrative tasks (monthly goal sheets on all E3 boards, etc.) 
     

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  •  Minimum  2 years’ experience in cable and wire harness manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of AS9102C requirements a plus.
  • Experience with Net-Inspect and Discus a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office suite required.
  • Experience with an ERP systems (SAP Business One) preferred but not required.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High  school diploma 
  • J-STD Certification is preferred but not required
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification is preferred but not required

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS

 This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Must  be fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English.
  • Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision).
  • Strong  understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD standards for wire harness assembly.
  • Must possess sufficient hand and upper body strength and gross motor skills to route cable bundles of various sizes, lengths and weights (cable assemblies regularly weigh more than 5 lbs. and some exceed several hundred lbs. and need to be moved around on large wooden spools).
  • Must be able to demonstrate Technical Literacy (ability to read and accurately interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, Parts Lists and blueprints or demonstrate the ability to learn this process).
  • Must be able to sit for sustained periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
  • Must follow strong safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is critical and required for this position.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and work independently.
  • Strong computer skills for documentation and report generation.
