Job Summary:

The HVAC Field Service Manager is a truck-based managerial role responsible for training assigned technicians in industry standards and company policies, overseeing and coordinating the activities of technicians, and ensuring that all HVAC projects are installed, maintained, and repaired according to industry standards and company policies. This role involves managing field operations, performing service and maintenance as needed, ensuring successful project execution, completion, and client satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and advance their careers.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of craft workers and subcontractors.
  • May assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training new staff, and managing performance reviews for assigned staff

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of HVAC technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Provide field support on preventive maintenance, service calls, and projects as needed to maintain customer SLA's. 
  • Work with sales team to perform surveys and be the technical guide through the life of the contract. 
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all work is performed according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians, assisting with complex troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary tools and equipment, ensuring all field staff have the resources needed to perform their duties.
  • Assist with the development and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the HVAC team.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address customer inquiries and resolve service issues.
  • Prepare and submit reports on field operations, including work completed, time spent, and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure job site safety and adherence to building codes and industry standards.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget, within timeline, and manage client satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Show stable work history that demonstrates responsibility and professional growth.

Proficiency in using gauges, meters, measuring instruments, hand tools, power tools, and equipment.

Excellent communication skills for interactions with peers, supervisors, and customers.

Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and adhere to all company safety requirements.

Strong Project Management Skills 

Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite


Education and Experience:

At least 10 years of commercial HVAC-R experience required

Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the HVAC industry.

Valid A or B HVACR license is preferred.

Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair.

Valid EPA Certification and required state registrations.

PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications preferred.


Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
