Harman Eye Clinic is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, we are searching for a Ophthalmic Technician to add to our team. Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Open and close exam lanes and ensure all supplies are stocked
  • Communicate patient flow with the team to keep the schedules running on time
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and waiting area for patients
  • Completes various documents and forms such as consent forms, work releases, etc
  • Take patients' medical histories, and perform ophthalmic diagnostic exams
  • Operate ophthalmic equipment
  • Sterilize instruments to maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment
  • Help instruct the patient in the care and treatment of eye conditions
  • Ensure all medical records are accurate and complete
  • Triage phone calls from patients and outside contacts
  • Maintain flexibility and perform other duties as required




Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of medical coding terminology and conventions
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products and G-suite environment
  • Willing to help in all areas, have the flexibility and effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Enjoy working with the elderly population
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, and ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writing
  • Professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and patient confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant, experienced COA or COT preferred.
  • Maintains appropriate education, certification, licensure, and training.
