Overview
We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Infill Specialist to join our team. As an Infill Specialist, you will play a key role in preparing and revitalizing properties for new home installations. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who thrives in an outdoor, team-oriented environment and enjoys a variety of construction and maintenance tasks. You'll be responsible for site preparation, utility installation, heavy equipment operation, and ensuring that our communities are clean, safe, and ready for residents.
From clearing lots and installing utilities to pouring concrete and performing property walkthroughs, this role requires a strong work ethic, mechanical know-how, and a commitment to quality. You will work closely with other team members and departments, often serving as a liaison with contractors and supporting seasonal needs such as snow removal. Cook Properties is New York State’s largest owner and operator of manufactured housing communities. Our portfolio includes more than 100 manufactured home communities totaling over 6,500 home sites. We also own and manage commercial, retail, and office properties, along with self-storage facilities throughout New York State.
What You’ll Do
As an Infill Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our communities. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare lots for new homes by clearing old homes, trees, brush, and utilities
- Install essential utilities such as water, sewer, electric, and gas lines
- Pour concrete pads and repair gravel driveways and walkways
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment like tractors, backhoes, and trailers
- Keep grounds clean, pick-up trash, and assist with snow removal in the winter
- Track time, material usage, and maintenance tasks in property management software
- Oversee outside contractors when needed and ensure work meets company standards
- Perform regular property inspections to maintain community quality
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Be part of a supportive, collaborative team that works together to get the job done
- Stay up to date on industry knowledge and best practices through training

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who are:
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Able to travel between multiple communities as needed
- Comfortable using a tablet and cell phone for completing all required paperwork and work documentation
- Have 2+ years of experience in grounds, maintenance, construction, or a related field
- Have equipment operation and maintenance experience
- Interested in working in a property management environment
- Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (required)
- Possess strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Are available for overtime, emergency calls, and weekend work as needed
Preferred: High School Diploma
