Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Director of Surgical Services in Missoula, Montana.

POSITION OVERVIEW
• Executive nursing leadership opportunity overseeing Surgical Services operations within a 151-bed acute care hospital
• Direct reporting relationship to the Chief Nursing Officer with responsibility for departmental performance, staffing, quality, budgets, and operational excellence
• Lead clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory initiatives supporting perioperative services
• Opportunity to influence strategic growth, patient outcomes, and surgical services performance within a respected regional healthcare organization
• Newly created leadership position offering significant visibility and impact across the organization

COMPENSATION
• Base salary: $120,000-$165,000 annually
• Relocation assistance up to $10,000 with receipts

SCHEDULE
• Full-time leadership position
• Monday-Friday leadership schedule
• Occasional weekends and holidays as operational needs require
• 8-hour shifts beginning at 7:00 AM

ROLE
• Direct Surgical Services operations and departmental resources
• Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and strategic plans
• Oversee patient care delivery, staffing, quality initiatives, and service performance
• Manage hiring, onboarding, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development
• Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with clinical, operational, legal, and regulatory requirements
• Drive departmental performance, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency

Requirements

• Current Montana RN license or eligibility REQUIRED
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing REQUIRED
• Minimum 5 years Surgical Services RN experience REQUIRED
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience at Manager or Director level REQUIRED
• BLS required upon hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• Strong operational, financial, staffing, and performance management experience REQUIRED
• MSN, MBA, or Healthcare Administration degree strongly preferred
