Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Laboratory Director in Ottumwa, Iowa.
POSITION OVERVIEW
• Executive laboratory leadership opportunity reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer
• Lead operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic initiatives across hospital laboratory services
• Responsible for laboratory culture, team development, client growth, compliance, and service excellence
• Opportunity to influence hospital operations and laboratory growth within a regional healthcare organization serving Southeast Iowa
• Newly opened leadership position with significant operational impact and visibility
COMPENSATION
• Base salary: $91,980-$124,173 annually
• Relocation assistance potential available
SCHEDULE
• Full-time onsite leadership position
• No travel required
ROLE
• Establish laboratory vision, strategy, and operational direction
• Build and maintain a high-performing laboratory culture
• Lead employee recruitment, retention, engagement, and workforce development initiatives
• Manage laboratory budgets, financial performance, and operational goals
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies
• Drive client recruitment, retention, customer relations, and laboratory growth initiatives
• Oversee laboratory service delivery and coordination with hospital departments
• Support strategic planning, project management, and organizational change initiatives

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent REQUIRED
• BA/BS in Medical Technology or scientific discipline REQUIRED
• Minimum 5 years supervisory or management experience REQUIRED
• Strong laboratory operations leadership experience REQUIRED
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, CAP, CMS, OIG, FMLA, ADA, and laboratory regulatory requirements REQUIRED
• Strong strategic planning, project management, and change management skills REQUIRED
• Strong communication and leadership skills REQUIRED
• Hospital or reference laboratory experience preferred
• Master's degree preferred
• Previous Director-level experience preferred
